North Turton

North Turton is situated in the same north-easterly direction as South Turton, though as suggested by the name, lies further north of central Bolton and includes three villages: Belmont, Chapeltown, and Edgworth, plus several hamlets such as Turton Bottoms, Entwistle and Whittlestone Head.

North Turton is smaller and home to fewer residents than South Turton, offering more of a rural, village type lifestyle, whereas South Turton is more densely populated with a greater variety of amenities. However, North Turton boasts a variety of smaller, traditional-style independent shops, one of them being Holden’s & Co ice creamery, bakery, and off-licence in Edgworth, which is well known amongst locals. Across the road from Holden’s & Co is the Edgworth post office.
