The Ribble Valley has been voted one of the best places to live in the UK and is made up of many small towns and villages, stretching as far as Gisburn to the North East and Longridge to the South West. The area is well known for its beautiful scenery, including the Forest of Bowland AONB, Pendle Hill & Longridge Fell. You can even follow in the footsteps of J.R.R. Tolkien and walk the Tolkien Trail, which takes in the stunning landscapes around Hurst Green and Stonyhurst. Food is also one of the Ribble Valley’s biggest assets, with Michelin star restaurants, an array of gastro pubs in every village. The area still has an outstanding grammar school in Clitheroe and also a very good selection of state and private options too.
